Messianic Prophecies

Short:
"What are the odds of Jesus fulfilling just 8 prophecies?"

"Jesus: The Prophesied Messiah - What does 'Messiah' mean?"
Class taught April 24, 2024

Before we can answer whether Jesus is the prophesied "Messiah," we first need to know what that word means.

"Jesus: The Prophesied Messiah - How do we interpret messianic prophecies?"
Class taught May 1, 2024

A lot of messianic prophecies in the Old Testament are pretty straightforward. They say "X" is going to happen, so we just need to ask, "Did X happen?" But at the same time, prophecy is broader than that. We struggle to take off our "21st century hat" and read the scriptures in the cultural context that they would have been heard in ancient Israel. In this class, we unpack four different types of prophetic fulfillment.

"Jesus: The Prophesied Messiah - Are modern texts of messianic prophecies accurate?"
Class taught May 8, 2024

It's really easy to "predict" something after it happened. So how do we know that the messianic prophecies that Christians say point to Jesus weren't written after the fact or changed to fit the circumstances of His life? The short answer is that the overwhelming evidence just doesn't allow for that conclusion. This class explains why.

"Jesus: The Prophesied Messiah - Examining the most powerful prophecies"
Class taught May 15, 2024

In the final class in our series, we look at three messianic prophecies: (1) the virgin birth; (2) Daniel seventy "sevens", and (3) the suffering servant of Isaiah 53, and we show how with mind-boggling accuracy they point to one person and one person only, hundreds of years before He was born ... Jesus of Nazareth.

Short:
"Before Jesus was born, God said he would be both God and man"
Short:
"A prophecy that's impossible to deny"
Short:
"Were Isaiah's prophecies of Jesus made up after the fact?"
